More than 300 friends and supporters joined us at our Annual Houston’s Heroes Awards Luncheon to honor 10 incredible individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to make our City safer for all. Led by mistress of ceremonies Deborah Duncan, we celebrated their accomplishments and raised additional funds to further our mission. There were so many special moments including remarks from Mayor John Whitmire and a very touching award presentation by the one and only media icon, ABC13 anchor emeritus, Crime Stoppers Chairmans Council Chair emeritus and author, Dave Ward.

G5 Collective Selects The HUB Houston For 2024 Service Project
MARCH 21, 2024 — HOUSTON, TX — G5 Collective, a Houston-based, service-oriented, artist collective co-founded in 2020 by University of Houston MFA graduates Liz Gates and Doug Welsh, has selected The HUB Houston as the focus of its 2024 community service efforts. The HUB Houston, located in Spring Branch, is a non-residential educational organization serving neurodiverse teenagers and young adults. G5’s year-long mentoring commitment will culminate in a HUB artists’ group exhibition. G5 Collective is seeking venue suggestions for the exhibition from the Greater Houston art community. Denise Hazen, Founder of Aspire Accessories, was honored as one of Houston's 50 Most Influential Women by Houston Woman Magazine in March, 2023. Each honoree was nominated for the “50 Women” list by a reader of Houston Woman Magazine and then selected by the publication staff. Kroger and Houston Dynamo are recognizing and rewarding outstanding educators in Houston for the second year in a row. Our very own Coach Russo was selected from hundreds of nominees as one of the top 5 educators in Houston in 2020! She was honored at a media event on October 5th and recognized before the game on Sunday, October 16th. Over 75 Hubsters attended the game in support of Coach! Congratulations, Coach Russo, for this well-deserved and exciting honor!
